In Episode II of Behind The Glass, I invite another former student of mine, who has become a powerhouse in the entertainment industry. At an early age Robert E. Lee IV began to show interest in music. He started taking piano lessons at the age of six, and by twelve years old, he regularly participated in classical competitions. Robert later began attending the Interlochen Center of the Arts summer program -but, it was not until high school that Robert discovered his true musical passion: record production and music composition.
After high school, Robert went on to study piano performance in contemporary genres and audio engineering at the prestigious Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood, CA. During his time at MI, Darryl Swann, engineer and producer of Macy Gray, mentored Robert and helped him develop his “flair” in the studio.
Since that time, Robert has produced, collaborated, and played keyboards on projects with artists such as KC & The Sunshine Band, New Zealand’s award winning vocalist, Aaradhna, multi-platinum recording artist, Brooke Valentine, renowned R&B/Hip-Hop producer, G-1 (916 Music Productions), and film composer and former drummer for Ours, Kirke Jan Blankenship (AcademyCurve).
Robert’s television credits are even more impressive; with hundreds of placements on shows like Keeping Up With Kardashians, 90 Day Fiancé, Snapped, 1000-lb Sisters, and countless others. He even started producing his own show called Laugh After Dark on Amazon Prime. Robert is based in Los Angeles where he is co-owner and founder of Creative Studios Los Angeles, a multimedia production company. CSLA also houses his recording studio, where he produces and composes music for TV and Film.
