This is an orchestral cover of the main theme from the movie ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, Persis Khambatta as Illia & Stephen Collins as William Decker. This is the first of over a dozen motion pictures from the Star Trek franchise & the first from the Original Series. The score was composed by the great Jerry Goldsmith; whose had multiple Academy Awards for his compositions. A rendition of his theme was also used for TV Series Star Trek: The Next Generation along with Alexander Courage’s motif. I grew up on TNG so this theme is near & dear to my heart. I only felt it justice to re-create this theme to go with the covers of Star Trek I already have. I’ll probably give one of the TNG movies a go, but in the meantime enjoy this beautifully written score. Again, I used no sheet music, this was all done by ear and ALL MIDI….so apologies if a couple of notes are missing or off. Like, comment & definitely subscribe to my channel.
