Machine Improv (2014) for generative software environment – infinite duration

This piece was conceived for the Audiovisualities Lab at Duke University as an installation. It is one of my first attempts at capturing the interplay found in jazz improvisation and recreating it in a generative software environment. Its performance is made possible with multiple software applications like Noatikl, Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, and Reaktor, working in sync. This recording is an excerpt chosen from the 9-hour long recording that was made during the 2015 installation at the Audiovisualities Lab.
